HMO Access Problems We receive calls daily regarding women's difficulty accessing an Ob/Gyn whether for routine care, gynecologic problems or initiating prenatal care. For women having problems accessing Ob/Gyn care within their Medical Group or IPA we would like to help. Currently, however, this may require you to switch Medical Groups with your HMO Insurer. Once changed to one of the following, we can usually see you within the week, or often days for urgent matters. To change medical groups: 1. Call your insurance company. 2. Explain that you are having access problems to an Ob/Gyn and need to switch Medical Groups. 3. Choose from among the primary care physicians within the new medical group. Choosing one of the following will ensure that we can take care of you: Scripps Coastal Medical Group: 1. Dr. Joyce Havranek 2. Dr. Ramona Master 3. Dr. Stacey Lin 4. Dr. Diane Vu 5. Dr. Nancy Fierro 6. Dr. David Koh San Diego Physicians Medical Group: 1. Dr. Robert Stephenson 2. Dr. Nayana Trivedi 3. Dr. Mark Rutman 4. Dr. Yoo Jin Chong 5. Dr. Marybeth Chong 6. Dr. Jeff Newman 7. Dr. Ramin Farsad 8. Dr. John Hill 9. Dr. Barry Broomberg 10.Dr. Robert Brunst 4. For Most HMO's your new Medical Group will be: San Diego Physicians Medical Group North Coastal. For CIGNA you need to choose CIGNA Direct; Aetna members may choose Aetna US Healthcare Network; Community Health Group Members should be fine. |
